Sanity

Time passes in solitude,
One’s sole escape,
Their exit from the world,
Where ‘tis written “Use only in case of emergency”,
This inner sanctuary,
A tragic escapism,
It becomes his life—
And reality is redefined,
Like clay constantly sculpted
And torn into a new mold,
So his perception is manipulated—ever so slightly,
Until it seems he has lost all sanity.
