Literature Text

Will you help me if I have fallen,
For today I have put my life to an end,

The souls I thought I would see are never there,
Not in this plane of darkness,

Whatever help I could have had when I was still alive is now denied,
The gatekeeper has never cared,
He walks by returning lamentations with scorn,
The worst of scorn that is achieved by showing complete ignorance
               Towards us fallen souls,

Anyone who may notice me shows disheartening pity and walks away
               In fear of becoming,
But you, I see you standing there everyday
Glancing at me with an emotionless expression,
From my dreams or memories I recall you,

So will you help me if I have fallen?
Or will you walk away like the rest,
Uncaring and afraid?

Whatever you decide
Heed my words,
Do not be as foolish as I,
Enjoy your life while you still have the chance.
An old poem and, until recently, the darkest I have yet written. It was my final relieving of my thoughts of suicide in the 5th grade (this was written my freshmen year of high school, 2 years ago).
